- I have used both VC++4.0 and Symantec C++ 7.2. For Windows programming, I
- prefer VC++4.0 by a wide margin. The VC++ compiler, debugger, and
- resource editer are well integrated, and the class wizzard works much
- better. Also, with VC++ 4.0 you get MFC 4.0 and DAO. I liked the Symantec
- compiler, but my productivity took a huge jump when I switched to
- VC++4.0. I my opinion,VC++ 4.0 is a much better compiler, and everybody
- else has some catching up to do. However, one criticism is that compile
- times can be slow for large projects, and you will need a fast computer
- with Win95, or Windows NT to run it.
